Following several recent disputes concerning the delivery of expensive books, we have updated our Bookseller Policies to clarify responsibility when a customer reports that a book has failed to arrive.
Responsibility for Undelivered Items:
Responsibility for undelivered items continues to lie with the bookseller. Therefore, AbeBooks recommends shipping with a carrier that provides signature confirmation whenever it is available.
Effective 8th April, in the event of a dispute where the buyer claims non-delivery and requests a refund, signature confirmation of delivery will protect the bookseller.
