You may have recently noticed a new name on the Bookseller Digest!
Earlier this month I joined the AbeBooks team, succeeding Sarah Marshall, in the role of Sales & Account Management. In this position I will be responsible for the communication with our UK sellers, working to recruit new sellers, and organizing events and other projects.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, I hold a degree in Political Science and Corporate Communications. Before moving to Germany I worked in marketing and communications within the Canadian bookselling industry.
My favourite authors include Jane Austen, Paolo Coelho and Michael Ondaatje, but I enjoy reading just about anything!
I'm looking forward to keeping you posted on the Bookseller Digest and getting to know you and your businesses better!
Catherine,
Welcome to ABE. I joined as a bookseller last year on Sarah's watch, although things have run fairly smoothly since the initial set-up period so I have not had cause to badger her or anyone else in the team. We've had a good run of business in the new year and I've noticed that Canadian customers are featuring more often - in fact, I've slightly reduced the surface postage rate to Canada in my shipping matrix to encourage them.
It would be good to meet at some point. I found last April's bookseller meeting in London very useful and enjoyable and should be pleased to attend if you were to organise another.
Kind regards,
Ian Stewart

Dear Ian,
Many thanks for your warm welcome! I'm really enjoying my time so far at AbeBooks and it's great getting to know the various booksellers across the UK. We will be attending the London Book Fair again this year and will be sending more information shortly about another booksellers event. I'm looking forward to meeting you there personally!
Best regards,
Catherine
